Upper Elementary Teachers (9-12 years old)

Mission statement: our mission is to nurture the holistic development of children, fostering their growth, learning and well-being in an educational environment that integrates Christian values and Montessori-inspired principles, with English as the primary language of instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Teach, guide, supervise, and assess students’ learning across all subjects, including Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Cultural Studies.
• Develop engaging lesson plans, curricula, and learning activities that align with Ayhay Christian School’s educational philosophy.
• Foster critical thinking, creativity, and independence in students through inquiry-based learning and hands-on projects.
• Prepare and maintain an organized and stimulating classroom environment with appropriate educational materials.
• Support and supervise classroom assistants, aides, interns, and parent volunteers.
• Communicate effectively with parents and be available for academic discussions and student progress updates.
• Conduct assessments of students' learning progress and provide feedback to parents and staff.
• Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and school community events.
• Promote a collaborative and positive atmosphere among students, staff, and the school community.

• Commitment to holistic and child-centered education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• University degree or attestation in Education or related fields.
• Experience in teaching children, preferably in a Montessori or inquiry-based setting.
• Ability to engage students with diverse learning styles and needs.
• Positive and open attitude towards all children.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
